I didn't know it back then but Biologie sprouted the day I first saw an elodea leaf under the microscope. The leaf was alive and the microscope brought into focus individual plant cells. The rest of my botany class moved on to the next lesson but I remained at the scope because I was fascinated by the organelles moving throughout the cell, delivering sugars and life-force to the leaf. The realization of the innerworkings of a simple waterweed brought to life a love for the blend of both science and nature which, in turn, lead me to a college career in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Working in a laboratory was interesting and now I feel I need to share the small wonders (whether it's a white blood cell, an insect, a sprout, or a colony of bacteria) in the form of handmade jewelry inspired by science and sunshine.
